Some people leave a room quieter than they found it.

Johnny Schur did the opposite.

He brought warmth into hard work, humour into long calls, and steady kindness into the spaces where people needed it most.

For those who knew him through IATSE 63, Johnny was more than a familiar face on the crew. He was part of the fabric of the local. He showed up, did the work, looked after the people beside him, and made even the longest days feel a little lighter.

Johnny could make you laugh when you were exhausted. He never made the work smaller, but he made the day easier.

Our hearts are heavy today. We are one less.
